As I walk outside, the frosty air brushes against my face - today I’m feeling inspired. By the fresh mountain air, the snow capped mountains, by the tall, majestic pine trees, stretching out across the hills. Sometimes I feel like our lives become so strained - weather by our feelings, insecurities, commitments, or goals - we become weighed down by all of the components that make up our daily life. So when you wake up on those beautiful days, and decide to let all of it go, and live so completely in the present moment, you suddenly find yourself feeling inspired and alive.
Whether its taking the time to walk to a yoga class instead of driving there, or sitting in to have a coffee rather than a take away; slowing down your day to day pace allows you to take in your surroundings. It give’s you that precious time to think. Not about the dishes you’ve left at home, and not about your upcoming pay check. Not about the meaningless, everyday, monotonous tasks we all somehow succumb to on some level within our life. No, it gives you time to think about things outside of that. Maybe it’s nothing as significant as debating the meaning of life, or why you’ve been put here on this earth and what your life’s purpose is – or maybe it is. But for that moment, weather a minute, hour or day, that you can completely let go, you can truly just revel in the moment of being – being alive – and it feels euphoric.
Out of no where, just at that exact point that your worries have absentmindedly slipped away, suddenly there’s a twitching at the corners of your mouth, and in no time at all a giant, all encompassing smile has spread across your face, marvelling at how wonderful the world is. Experience it, let it engulf you, and then find a way to hold on to it.
And the fresh mountain air, the snow capped mountains and the tall, majestic pine trees all seem so perfect - if only for a moment.
